The challenge
Promoting the world's biggest films sounds simple. But when you’re a cinema it’s not so straightforward. Every other cinema is also showing the same film, using the same assets. Then there’s ballet performances, gigs, live theatre. All with different audiences. Our job? Making sure those audiences choose Vue. Standing out from the competition. Connecting with people emotionally. Then turning those connections into loyal fans – and ticket sales.

Our approach
Many cinemas rely on competitions and giveaways to stand out. We wanted something deeper – a real connection with audiences.
So we developed a distinctive tone of voice that feels unmistakably Vue. Not just talking to people about entertainment, but saying something truly entertaining about it.
Next, we built Vue its own specialist, branded team – a studio – of strategists, creatives, designers, producers and social media experts. Together they create standout content, making the most of the unique features, formats, and interactive potential of our everyday platforms.

Our solution
Our multi-disciplinary studio works closely with the Vue team to plan, conceptualize, design and distribute original, high-impact omni-channel content. Day in, day out.
We partner with a variety of creative talent – from illustrators and VR artists to miniaturists – to create one-of-a-kind pieces that fans love, sparking conversations on Reddit and in the media.
We turned Toy Story alien assets into an interactive Facebook Live carnival that helped Vue surpass a competitor for the first time in 5 years.
We capitalized on excitement for Barbie with interactive content, games, and competitions, inviting Barbies everywhere to come to Vue with their favorite accessory - Ken, of course! - for a chance to win prizes. The campaign not only became Vue’s best-selling title ever on social media but also achieved a 52% lower CPA than the previous top-seller, alongside a 9.7x return on ad spend, culminating in Vue's most successful movie weekend since 2019.
Each piece of content we make is designed to work across multiple channels, to stand out and communicate the excitement of the big screen experience. We then analyze data from every single one, to spot trends and gather insights on audience behaviors and inform future strategies. By using AI and tactical paid features, we ensure our creative reaches the right audience effectively, optimizing conversion rates, reducing costs, and maximising ROI. We do all this within a budget, and while staying agile with our production schedules. Ready to adapt as new titles arrive.
By growing a loyal fan community, we lessened Vue’s reliance on the film slate and established a unified brand proposition that enriches the whole experience for movie goers.
